Low season sunshine and affordable prices
Tempted by a low season sunshine break in Sicily? Journalist Bridget Galton describes in the Ham & High newspaper how her recent holiday at the fabulous Casa del Carrubo ticked every box, with special mention of the amazing hospitality extended by ‘the loveliest of hosts, Giuseppe’. Bridget took her family holiday in October, following the disappointment of a soggy August break in the UK.
She stayed at one of our most popular family villas in Sicily, the fabulous Casa del Carrubo. Situated within walking distance of Noto beach, the 2-bedroom villa has a fantastic garden with a pool, hot tub and wood fired pizza oven. With fruit trees, fresh herbs to hand and a well-equipped outdoor kitchen area, Bridget made excellent use of the garden for mealtimes, even during October. She and her family also made the most of the villa’s location, just an hour from Catania airport, and within easy reach of the marvels of Noto and Syracuse. Unsurprisingly, the delicious Sicilian food was also a highlight for all the family, a combination of easy home-prepared meals of pasta or grilled meat and vegetables and feasting on fresh fish in Avola and delicious chocolate orange gelato at Caffe Costanzo in Noto.
Overall impression? Whatever the weather next summer in the UK, ‘we’ll be back’!
One week at Casa del Carrubo starts at €1750 (sleeps 4).
