50 of Europe’s best summer holiday villas

It definitely feels like the right time to start thinking about summer holidays and the Telegraph kicked us off at the weekend with its round-up of 50 of Europe’s best summer holiday villas.

The mega list ranges from love nests for two to spectacular party pads, with a great collection of family villas in between. What they all share is the chance to sample life in another country, even if just for a week, and the freedom to wander down for breakfast in your PJ’s without worrying about restrictive hotel schedules or dress codes.

With its fabulous beachfront setting and gorgeous outdoor spaces, our Casa dei Nomadi (sleeps 10) was one of the villas selected for the preferred Family Villas. The villa’s garden provides ample outdoor living space, with a series of cleverly designed garden areas. In between the elegant, decked pool area and outdoor dining space, a garden gate leads straight on to the beach where guests can enjoy the luxury of a private furnished patio. The garden also has an outdoor kitchen. Interior spaces include a living room, five bedrooms and three bathrooms (with a fourth by the pool).

The villa is perfectly located just outside Cefalù which is easily accessible by road (15 minutes) or rail via the recently opened Finale di Pollina station. The small electric train connects a series of towns along Sicily’s north coast, from Palermo to Messina.
